After Preaching the Lord’s Prayer by REV. HOJISHIN

From February 21st, we have meditated the Lord’s Prayer which Jesus taught and searched true meaning of it through 9 weeks. 

     The Lord’s Prayer itself is a perfect prayer which can be prayed alone, but by meditating on and understanding each phrase, we were able to pray with more extensiveness. So far, we have learned that: 

    Jesus called God “Dad” rather than “Father,” and also taught and encouraged us to do the same. This means that we have an intimate and close relationship with God. 

    We have also learned the order in which we should arrange our petitions to God. Before praying for ourselves, we must first pray for God. 

    Hallowed be your name. Dear God, as the Creator, receive all praise, honor, and glory you are worthy of. 

    Your Kingdom come. Recover this world so it may become your beautiful and orderly Kingdom. Let the new Heaven and new earth, which is to come with the second coming of Christ Jesus, come now. 

    Let your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. When your will is to be done, use me, Lord. Give us today our daily bread. We are grateful for enough food to live. 

Give us the power to feed ones who are hungry and clothe ones who are naked. Forgive us our debts. Help us to uproot our faults completely. 

Forgive the sins of what we have done, which have ruined your beautiful world. 
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Give us spiritual strength to not fall into temptation. Protect us from the evil one.

     I hope that we could ask correctly and live better through the Lord’s Prayer.
